XXVII International Festival of Sustainable Art of Catalonia<\/strong><\/p>\n

Welcome to the exciting Drap-Art Al G\u00f2tic, the 27th Sustainable Art Festival of Catalonia!<\/p>\n

This year, we are pleased to announce the beginning of the Festival, with two previous activities that will mark the beginning of an extraordinary festival. First, the remarkable installation of recycled advertising paper by the talented German artist Ramona Seyfarth. This installation, inaugurated on September 16 in one of the charming kiosks of the florists of La Rambla, has been possible thanks to the collaboration of L\u00ednia Cultural Rambles, Mercats de Barcelona, the Societat d\u2019Art Circular de L\u00fcbz (Germany) and the tireless promoter, Julia Theek.<\/p>\n

In addition, our historic bullring converted into the Arenas Shopping Center in Barcelona has been the perfect place to host a collective exhibition of Drap-Art, thus bringing sustainable art closer to our beloved visitors. From September 26 to October 21, you will be able to enjoy the wonderful works of outstanding artists linked to Drap-Art, such as the Alacalle collective, the Ocean Sole organization and the talented Tucho Bergeret, Orson Buch, Noni Font, Alberto Gramegna, Emeric Jacob, Eduard Masseg\u00fa, Imanol Ossa, Jordi Palli, J.M. Past\u00f3, Jordi Prat Pons and Hernan Seco.<\/p>\n

This year, we are especially excited by our local and international collaborations. We will be present at the C\u00f3smica Festival in Montevideo, Uruguay, presenting the works of the renowned veteran artists of Drap-Art, Karol and Tucho Bergeret, father and daughter, whose commitment to Barcelona and Uruguay has been fundamental for this association. Likewise, you will have the opportunity to appreciate an impressive piece by the talented Uruguayan artist Pincho Casanova, and do not miss our market of art, design and crafts made from recycled materials within the framework of C\u00f3smica.<\/p>\n

But that’s not all. We will also participate in the prestigious Westbund Art & Design Fair in Shanghai, invited by the Cervantes Institute to exhibit our works at its institutional stand and at the Cervantes Library at the Consulate of Spain in Shanghai in January 2024. In addition, we have started an exciting collaboration with Eddy Ekete, the promoter of the Kinact Festival of Kinshasa, who will present his surprising performative project \u201cNdaku ya, la vie est belle\u201d during the Drap-Art.<\/p>\n

Our local cultural community in Ciutat Vella has experienced a remarkable rebirth after the challenges we faced during the pandemic. Tourists have returned, and with them, a flourishing of new galleries and cultural spaces. From the Royal Artistic Circle of Barcelona, which has transformed the Martorell Palace into a private museum, to the Test Gallery of Ukrainian artists and the Bien Cuadrada Gallery, a fascinating multicultural initiative of artists of different nationalities, we are witnessing a vibrant revival in the local cultural scene.<\/p>\n

We would like to sincerely thank Gr\u00e0cia Territori Sonor for the generous transfer of archive materials by V\u00edctor Nubla, and Juan Crek for his magnificent interpretation of this valuable legacy. Nubla, an exceptional and eclectic talent from Barcelona, is fondly remembered in our special section of In Memoriam this year. His legacy as a musician, writer, graphic designer and defender of life and creativity continues to inspire our souls.<\/p>\n

Don’t miss our exciting exhibition \u201cNaturalezas Infinitas\u201d, curated by Betty Bigas, with works by outstanding artists in the magnificent space of N\u00fa\u00f1ez i Navarro, on Ample 13 street. In addition, we encourage you to explore the exciting proposals of our guest artists at the Base Elements Galleries, Test Gallery, Artevistas and La Bien Cuadrada. At Artesania Catalunya, we have gathered a fascinating collection of works by our selected artists.<\/p>\n

We want to thank all the artists, participants and observers, for their commitment to sustainable art and the reuse of materials. We encourage them to follow their example and support their work, thus strengthening our collective movement that encourages reflection and creativity around our world and its sustainability.
