30 Years of Drap-Art and the Opening of Drap-Art’25

Yesterday, November 10th, 2025, Drap-Art celebrated its 30th anniversary as a registered association. Three decades dedicated to promoting sustainable art, creativity, and environmental awareness, culminating this year with a new edition of the International Festival of Sustainable Art of Catalonia.

The festival will open on Thursday, November 20th, 2025, with the Exhibition of artists selected through an open call, taking place at 7 p.m. at the Espai de la Plataforma El Borsí per al Barri. This exhibition will bring together artistic proposals from emerging and established creators who use the language of art to reflect on sustainability, recycling, and the role of culture as a driver of change.

The celebration will then continue with the Mexican Night of Drap-Art, to be held at 9:30 p.m. at Diobar (Av. del Marquès de l’Argentera, 27 – Barcelona). The evening will feature two unique musical performances from Mexico: Orquesta Basura and Sonido San Francisco.

Orquesta Basura creates music using instruments made from recycled materials and discarded objects. From Mexico City, they blend cumbia, reggae, balkan, ska, and swing in a festive yet reflective performance that celebrates diversity and sustainable creativity. Meanwhile, Sonido San Francisco, pioneers of electronic cumbia, have spent over fifteen years making audiences around the world dance to their vibrant mix of folk, tropical, and electronic rhythms. Now based in Barcelona, they present their new single Caminos de cumbia.

Tickets for the Mexican Night of Drap-Art are priced at €10 and are now available online. Get yours now and join us in celebrating the beginning of Drap-Art’25.

With this double event —the exhibition opening and the inaugural party—, Drap-Art celebrates three decades of artistic activism and kicks off Drap-Art’25, a festival that continues to foster dialogue between art, sustainability, and social transformation.
