We’re presenting Drap-Aires at the CCCB Mirador!
We are delighted to invite you to the presentation of Drap-Aires: Stories from the Drap-Art Festival, which will take place on Tuesday, 15 September, at 6:30 pm, at the CCCB’s Mirador, the space where Drap-Art was born.
Drap-Aires is an artist’s book that captures the memory and spirit of the festival through photographs by photographer, photojournalist and visual artist Consuelo Bautista, who has documented Drap-Art’s journey over the past thirty years, and texts by writer and chronicler Xavier Theros, which revisit the stories and anecdotes experienced throughout its history.
The publication offers a journey through the people, artworks and moments that have shaped the festival, paying tribute to everyone who has been part of it: artists, collaborators, volunteers, neighbours, visitors and friends.
The presentation will feature Jaume Badia, Head of External Projects at the CCCB during the 1990s; Pilar Sampietro, writer and journalist; Xavier Theros, writer, chronicler and co-author of the book; Consuelo Bautista, author of the photographs; and Tanja Grass, co-founder and president of Drap-Art, cultural manager, curator, translator and co-author of the book.
The event will conclude with a performance by Berlin-based artist Stephanie Senge.
