Artist of the Month – Steven Forster

Steven Forster, artist of the month of October, awaits you at our next inauguration!

He is a multifaceted and multidisciplinary artist: sculptor, painter, music, composer, performer and unconventional interior designer, responsible for all the interior design of the Saltó Winery (www.bodegasalto.net), among others, and one of the founding members of Drap-Art. The art of recycling has been a constant in his work ever since, both in plastics and in music, performance or interior design projects.

He arrived in Barcelona in 1988 and stayed. He has been active in the alternative artistic scene, standing out in polypoetry, plastic arts, installations and experimental music since the 1980s. He currently lives and works in Hostalric, La Selva, with projects such as ‘Van Imagination, ‘Hostalric D ‘ART, ‘The Nose, .Ni Deu Ni Doors.

THE MONIGOTHIC

Forster, the Monigotics are part of a pseudoscience of humanity. They are recurring figures in his plastic work, symbols of the human being in its purest state. They reduce human traits to a minimum, becoming fetishes of human essence, without sex or other attributes to distract the viewer from the most fundamental of humanity.
