Opening Dates #DrapArt’23AlGòtic

#Drap-Art’23AlGòtic! From October 26th to December 21st, 2023

It’s time to celebrate the return of the International Festival of Sustainable Art of Catalonia, with its 27year history, returning for another edition in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona!

This year, we are excited to announce the start of a series of noteworthy events highlighting the importance of collaboration and raising environmental awareness.

Over the years, we have learned that climate change requires collective action, which is why we are proud to present a festival filled with local and international collaborations. From installations of recycled paper to collective exhibitions in emblematic spaces of Barcelona, Drap-Art’23 promises to inspire the  reflection and action in favor of the environment and our inner voices.

This year, we have witnessed a flourishing of art and culture in Ciutat Vella, with emerging galleries and cultural spaces that nourish a vibrant artistic landscape. Additionally, we are thrilled to announce our participation in international events, including the Cósmica Festival in Montevideo and the Westbund Art & Design Fair in Shanghai. These collaborations allow us to join forces with artists and visionaries from around the world, highlighting the importance of uniting for a sustainable present.

We inaugurate the festival with three unmissable dates and collaborations:

  • Thursday 26/10 – 7 to 10 pm
Inauguration with opening speeches and guest DJ Fonki Cheff. Pop Up Gallery on Carrer Ample 11-13, Plaza de la Mercé.
  • Saturday 28/10 – 7 to 11 pm
Opening concerts in Plaza del Rey. Guest artists: Orquesta Basura, La Maga, Ominira, DJ Fonki Cheff
  • Tuesday 31/10 – 7 to 9 pm
Inauguration of collaborative exhibition at Test Gallery. 8 pm: Concert by Wagner Pa & Os Parceiros, Plaza Milans.

As the festival kicks off, we want to pay tribute to Víctor Nubla, a multifaceted artist whose vision continues to inspire us today. His legacy and passion for authenticity and creativity resonate in the essence of Drap-Art’23.

Furthermore, we are excited to present the exhibition Infinite Natures, curated by Betty Bigas, a fascinating exploration of the intersection between art and nature that will surely leave our visitors amazed and reflecting on their relationship with the environment.

We thank all the artists and collaborators for their dedication to sustainable art and the creative use of recycled materials. We invite you to join us in this celebration of art and environmental consciousness, supporting our artists and together strengthening the movement towards a more sustainable and creative world.

Welcome to Drap-Art’23, a festival dedicated to uniting creative minds with a love for nature!
