Find us this weekend at the Gòtic Festival!

The Gòtic turns into a hotbed of sustainable creativity!

From May 9 to 11, Plaça Carme Simó will become the epicentre of the 2025 Gòtic Festival, thanks to the collaboration between Drap-Art and El Borsí per al Barri. Get ready for three vibrant days where art, music, recycling, and shared creativity take centre stage.

This year, the festival embraces a playful, sustainable spirit designed for all ages. Dive into a weekend full of street parties, workshops to spark your creativity, surprising performances, family-friendly activities, the energy of live music, immersive DJ sets, and many more surprises awaiting you around every corner of the square.

Throughout the weekend, the streets will come alive with the fascinating attractions and performances of Twisted Fairground, an innovative project by Matt Knight. It explores the dialogue between artistic installation, automated puppets, and physical theatre, featuring installations that will make you reflect, shows that will captivate you, and theatrical performances with various actors. Discover a constantly evolving world within an early 20th-century amusement park, reimagined for the present day.

Additionally, during the festivities, you can visit the information points of the following organisations:

  • Drap-Art (May 9, 10 and 11): Get to know our association of artists, cultural managers and creatives from various disciplines, united by a common goal: using art as a powerful tool to raise awareness of the ecological disasters caused by our consumer society. Discover our activities and proposals for adopting alternative and more sustainable lifestyles.
  • El Borsí per al Barri (May 9, 10 and 11): Meet the group of neighbours from the Gòtic neighbourhood who, with the support of other organisations and social movements, are fighting for a dream: to turn the iconic Borsí building into a space dedicated to artistic experimentation, creation and dissemination for the neighbourhood and the city.
  • Arrels Fundació (May 10): Learn about the crucial work of this foundation, which works tirelessly to support the most vulnerable people living on the streets of Barcelona. Discover how they provide holistic support to help them lead as autonomous a life as possible, offering guidance, social care, basic services, and accommodation for those in the most chronic situations. Also learn about their efforts to raise public awareness of poverty and denounce injustice, seeking solutions together with local authorities and citizens to make the motto #nobodysleepingonthestreet a reality.

FRIDAY, MAY 9: Let the festival begin with rhythm and creativity!
From 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., the square will burst with energy through DJ digital sets that will get you dancing nonstop:

  • D-2000: Electronic Latin Grooves to start the night with flavour.
  • DJ Kiño: An explosive blend of cumbia and salsa.
  •  Veacks: Latin beats and afro house to get your body moving.
  •  Cherman: Cumbia and danceable rarities for the curious.

You’ll also be able to explore a fascinating showcase of sustainable crafts featuring unique creators and proposals:

  • Amuletos: Jewellery and amulets that blend protection with sustainable style.
  • Antidoto28: Fashion, graphics and underground music with a futuristic aesthetic.
  • Gds Collage: Visual art that reimagines communication through urban collage.
  • Giújuba Studio: The endearing illustrated world of Jujuba and her fun adventures.
  • Glam Punk: Custom clothing design with a bold “glam” philosophy and punk spirit.
  • Helena Torres Design: Sustainable fashion creations with punk aesthetics, turning discarded materials into cult pieces.
  • Lai Diez Roig: Visual storytelling through art, photography and design, inspired by nature and poetry.
  • Maral Joies: Unique handcrafted jewellery made with high-quality metals and asymmetric designs.
  • Musa Mundi: Fair and ethical jewellery that promotes social and environmental awareness in every piece.
  • Yosoyo: Genderless, sizeless, seasonless fashion advocating for universal and inclusive beauty.

SATURDAY, MAY 10: A day to enjoy art and music!
From 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m., music remains centre stage with DJ sets by:

  • DJ Kiño: A double dose of energy with cumbia vs. salsa on vinyl and a mix of tropical bass and perreo sabroso.
  • Veacks: A sound journey through afro latin grooves on vinyl and a fusion of latin and afro house.
  • Cherman: A trip through 60s and 70s Latin music on vinyl, followed by indie dance and tropical fusion.

You’ll also have the chance to reconnect with the artisans who amazed you on Friday: Amuletos, Antidoto28, Gds Collage, Giújuba Studio, Glam Punk, Helena Torres Design, Lai Diez Roig and Maral Joies.
And you’ll get to meet new sustainable craft talents!:

  • Candles.Tina Studio: Handmade candles made from 100% natural soy wax, with a commitment to sustainability, unique design, and exclusive aromas.
  • Ediciones Raritas: An independent publishing house that will surprise you with zines, screen prints and quirky “risographies” full of humour and underground aesthetics.

SUNDAY, MAY 11: A grand finale with musical vermouth and awareness!
To close the 2025 Gòtic Festival, activities will run from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Enjoy a live musical vermouth with the infectious rhythms of Fastidio Tropical. And for a golden ending, experience the return of DJ energy with vinyl sessions from the epic duo DJ Kiño vs Cherman.

You’ll also be able to take part in fun and educational recycling games organised by Hache Creativa, the project by Héctor Escudero, which uses art, training and workshops to raise awareness about the importance of reducing plastic and other waste.

In the sustainable craft section, you’ll have another chance to meet and purchase creations by Amuletos, Candles.Tina Studio, Gds Collage, Giújuba Studio, Glam Punk, Helena Torres Design, Lai Diez Roig, Maral Joies and Musa Mundi.

And joining on Sunday is Rabal.925, bringing their sustainable handcrafted jewellery, made from reclaimed .925 silver and recycled noble woods. They apply traditional techniques passed down through generations to create unique pieces with ecological awareness.
